Anxiously Engaged LIVING Definition
Many years ago I found the phrase "Anxiously Engaged" in a scripture that says:
"Verily I say, men should be anxiously engaged in a good cause, and do many things of their own free will, and bring to pass much righteousness;
For the power is in them, wherein they are agents unto themselves..."
The way I have interpreted this passage is that we should be excited (anxiously) and taking intentional action (engaged) in a good cause so that we can do great things. We have the power within us to do so, we just have to choose it.
And there are a lot of good causes to choose from.
For some of us, that may look like being a parent, a good friend, rescuing animals, raising money for the medical research, or volunteering at a school. For others, it may be serving in church callings or assignments, sharing a message through speaking, running a non-profit, coaching, creating a budget, or baking chocolate chip cookies.
What I discovered as a coach, for over a decade now, is most individuals forget that they are a good cause too.
When we invest in ourselves, take care of ourselves, choose to be excited, and take intentional action in creating and living our best lives, we can then help others, and make a difference in the world around us.
Ask yourself, what are you doing in your life right now that you are so excited about that you are taking intentional action steps to make it happen?
